Looped edge piece: When installing tiles in your garage, it's best to start at the garage door with a looped edge piece. This ensures a smooth, finished front edge and sets you up for a clean and secure installation pattern.
Pegged edge piece: Use female edge tiles along the opposite sides or back edges of your layout — wherever the looped pegs of the last tiles are exposed. These edge pieces are not always required for every installation. If your tile layout extends all the way to a wall, edge tiles are usually unnecessary — you can simply cut the tiles to fit against the wall, leaving a small gap for expansion. However, if your installation stops short of a wall (leaving any edge exposed), pegged edge pieces are needed for a clean finish.
